R.O.C Race !! 2009
Memorial weekend! May 23-24th
For the 2009 race season we have stepped it up a notch...or 3! We had a lot of good sugestions last year but the one that really stuck in my head was , side by side racing.
Real paint swapping , tire bumping , side by side racing !! So here it is ! The first ever ( in CS), long course , SIDE BY SIDE , rock racing.
Here is how it will work.
We have opted for 1 extra long course 4-5 miles est. We will run drivers 2 at a time. After the drivers reach a pre-determined location on the course , we will send 2 more drivers.
At the end of day one , each driver will have run 3 runs. Day 2 , we will have each driver run 3 more laps ( with course reversed , and time permitting ). We will take the best 5 out of 6 runs for each driver , and pull out the fast 6. These drivers will make up our finals. Each of these six drivers will take a final run. We will then add the final run to their first 5 runs and determine our 3 winners !!
We will also have live music , and a extra large vendors section with all the big names in off road as well as , food vendors , raffle vehicles , a fab set up from Torchmate, RV's and boats and maybe even
an airbrush artist.
As you can see , we have turned the ROC into a one of a kind off road event that you won't want to miss !!

HERE IS THE LOW DOWN!!! ROC 08...
The competitors began showing up for tech early Friday morning !
We had a pretty fare turn out of drivers , even though half the registered drivers were no shows !! We had all the big boys here , and they were ready to go !!
The course was amazing , super fast , super technical , huge jumps , we had it all !!! Going into the event , we felt like 8min . was going to be almost impossible to do. First run of the day mid 7 minutes by Ray Mandel !! Shortly after that Shannon even faster , then Brad Lovell even faster !! Unbelievable !! If I hadn't seen with my own eyes , I wouldn't have believed it!!
The quality of the course , and the difficulty level , was at a whole new high!! This race may have been more demanding for set up and tuning than any other race of this style !! Walking through the pit area was crazy ! We need more nitrogen in the shocks , no we need the car lower , we need to add weight here !!!
All these things could be heard throughout the pits !! It was like they were all newbees again !!! The scream of sheer adrenaline as the drivers crossed the finish line was the best sign that this wasn't just another rock race !!! This was the R.O.C. !!!
